About Jenn-Air
The Jenn-Air Products Company was originally founded in 1947 by Louis J. Jenn in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was later known simply as Jenn-Air. Initially, the company was focused on the manufacturing and marketing of industrial fans for usage in commercial and industrial applications. In 1961, Jenn-Air integrated one of their fans into a cook-top range which lead to the invention of the first self-ventilated downdraft range. The company subsequently expanded its product line to include other kitchen appliances including microwave ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and eventually small appliances.
