About Thermador
Founded in 1916 by William E. Cranston, and began as a manufacturer of electric items which consisted mostly of portable and built-in heaters. In 1932, Thermador established its appliance manufacturing as Cranston merged with business owner H.H. Fogwell to form the Thermador Electric Manufacturing Company. Then, in 1947, Thermador invented the first wall oven and cooktop, revolutionizing the kitchen appliance industry. Since then, they have created many improvements and industry firsts including smooth top cooktops, star burners, and modular refrigeration setups.
