About LG
Founded in 1958 as GoldStar, the company was established after the Korean War to provide the nation with domestically-produced consumer electronics and home appliances as it rebuilt itself. LG Electronics produced South Korea’s first radios, TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners. GoldStar was one of the LG group with a sister company named Lak-Hui (pronounced “Lucky”) Chemical Industrial Corp. which is now known as LG Chem and LG Households.
